Running
In February I began a quest to start running. This decision changed my life forever. I must say it was not an easy thing to commit to. I had many reasons not to do it. Here are the reasons it took me so long to start running. These thoughts played over and over in my head every day.
There are some of these reasons that are a bit superficial. Who cares? It's true. I run to look good. I run to feel good. As long as I'm running, what does it matter? Running is good. Running has changed my life. I like myself. I don't know when I've ever said that.
- I can't run because I'll only make it a block before I get tired
- I can't run because someone might see me struggle.
- I can't run because I'm too fat.
- I can't run because I don't have time.
- I can't run because I have a bad back and it may injure it.
- I can't run because I can't breathe when I run.
- I can't run because shin splints hurt.
- I can't run because my boobs are too big.
- I can't run because I'm already on my feet for 10 or 12 hours a day at work. Running will only put more strain on them.
- I can't run because there's no way I will be able to work up enough stamina to make it worth it.
- I run because I feel awesome when I'm done.
- I run because I like to compete against myself.
- I run because for the first time in my life I don't mind looking at my naked body in the mirror.
- I run because running is the best stress reliever I have ever found.
- I run because I am proud of myself when I finish everyday.
- I run because my ass looks fabulous.
- I run because I like the looks I get from men.
- I run because it gives me SO MUCH energy!
- I run because I look good in my clothes.
- I run because It feels good to know that I'm doing something I never thought I could.
- I run because I feel strong.
- I run because I'm not a moody bitch anymore. I'm mostly on cloud nine and feel up to any challenge that comes my way.
- I run because I sleep like a log. <3
- I run because when I was in highchool, the boys never like me. They called me fat.
There are some of these reasons that are a bit superficial. Who cares? It's true. I run to look good. I run to feel good. As long as I'm running, what does it matter? Running is good. Running has changed my life. I like myself. I don't know when I've ever said that.
